Seen while walking along the walking trail along the north side of the St John River, in Fredericton.
Looking towards downtown Fredericton from the Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge.
Also Fredericton’s south shore, but in this view you look towards the UNB and St Thomas University campus.
When the Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge operated as a railroad bridge, and when the St John river saw ship traffic, the bridge operator would swing the bridge’s centre span out, where it would rest on the block until the ship would pass through.
Trucks handle all of the shipping now within New Brunswick.
