Caribana isn’t just about Caribbean culture. It’s also about advertising. These young ladies were advertising a diamond company.
After my Caribana experience last year, I knew better than to sit and wait for the parade proper to end. Instead, I followed a throng of spectators into the parade and snapped against the tide.
While waiting for the crowd to build, Jacob amused a cranky baby and the audience with balloon animals. Then he turned on distracted audience members. Jacob sees everything. Sophie, his wife, tries to tame his risque comments. No doubt it’s all part of the act: Dream State Circus.
